How to copy and paste to iPhone

Sometimes you need to copy and paste link, image or text from your desktop PC or MacBook to iPhone laying near you. Typically, sending content via e-mail can help, if you've got Mail application configured on your Apple gadget, but doing it this way dozen times a day makes headache and sadly frays your nerves.

If you look at the AppStore, you will see that there are a lot of apps supposed to solve this problem in different manners. Some of them use Bluetooth and Bonjour capabilities of the iPhone device, like Scribe and it's clones. A lot of such applications aren't compatible with your operating system on desktop end. Thus, it makes the application purchase absolutely useless and your pain lot sharper.

But silver bullet exists. It's called ShotBuf. The application with strange comic name becomes very handy since the first run and helps in day-to-day routine.

ShotBuf makes copying links, images and text from desktop to iPhone as simple as copying into clipboard buffer (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C depending on what system is installed).

If you tired of Mail app as copy utility and you need periodically to copy image, text or link to iPhone you must install this great app. It requires installation both on desktop and iPhone. The desktop application is very light-weight statusbar application, available freely on official web-site.

Once the iPhone application installed, you'll be asked to proceed to http://shotbuf.com/d/ on your desktop PC, where you can grab desktop client. When you've got installed apps on both ends and signed in into Dropbox account you're ready to go.

Great news! Mac OS X and Windows are supported in desktop version!

Select text and copy it into your clipboard. It appears instantly on the screen of your iPhone. Do the same with URLs and you'll get them too. Select image or copy image from within browser window. Buf! It pops up on the mobile screen.

You will never remember how it could be painful to copy from desktop to iPhone with the help of amazing ShotBuf application.
